Question: If I have to cancel my seminar attendance after I have registered and paid, is it possible to get a refund?

Answer: Unfortunately, no. The IKYF policy now requires us to collect participant fees and wire them to Japan 2 months ahead of the seminar, then the IKYF pays the University. Once the participant fees are out of our hands, we have no way to issue refunds.

Question: I have a friend/relative near to Sonoma State University. Can I get a reduced rate if I stay off campus, or eat meals off campus?

Answer: Unfortunately, no. The price SSU charges us is a flat fee per participant, including dorm room, meals, and access to all facilities. We cannot offer discounts to any participant who chooses not to stay in the dorm or not to eat on campus.

Question: The deadline for registration and payment is May 3 on the seminar website and in emails from the AKR, but the deadline is May 23 on the Excel sheet from the IKYF. Which one shall I use?

Answer: The registration and payment deadline is May 3. The AKR always has an earlier deadline than that of the IKYF as we must collect all of the Shinsa forms for AKR President signature, collect payments, collect the Excel registrations, check to be sure everything is filled out correctly, and then mail paperwork and wire fees so they will arrive in Japan by the IKYF deadline.
